Hitchhiking to the party! An immoral offer!?

Wow, my first time hitchhiking didn't go as planned. I had to get to Karlsruhe urgently because I was invited to a birthday party. I actually wanted to ride with a friend, but he canceled at short notice. My girlfriend casually said, "Then hitchhike, I always do it, it'll work out." Oh well, what could possibly happen? I've barely pulled over to the side of the road when the first car stops. A cute guy offers me a ride. I'm so happy about it that I immediately make him a big promise, "You won't regret giving me a ride!" Oh dear, before I can even think about it, the words are already out of my mouth. So we eventually pull into a parking lot, get into the back of the car, and I keep my promise.
